Obama's Back-to-School Speech

Obama's Back-To-School speech caused a lot of controversy even before it came out on television. Many people were afraid that the president would try to talk of health care, the economy, or even socialist ideas to students. However, the speech mentioned none of these things. Obama spoke of his own education in Indonesia, which was a very inspiring story. Then he told the students that we needed to learn, to do homework, and that our country was counting on us to be the future doctors, scientists, and great politicians. According to Yahoo News, "He told them to stop chasing their dreams of being athletes and reality TV stars". He did say something like this, but this wasn't exactly a correct interpretation. He told us students to have a back-up plan, and that we most likely wouldn't all be athlets and stars. As Fox news put it, "Obama urged students to work hard".
